Parents: Brian and Joan McCarthy, 2 Dromhall Park, Killarney. My Dad is a Dub which causes problems every summer in the All-Ireland Championship. My Mom grew up between Scartaglen and Currow and was a sibling of The Ducks and The Weavers both O Connors.
Living Now: 16 years in Hillview, Knockeragh, Tiernaboul, Killarney, Co. Kerry.
Married: Luckily to Lorraine Doherty since Sept 1997. Lor’s dad is from Headford and her mum from Dunmanway and grew up in Ballinspittle – famous for the Moving Statue and the beautiful Garrettstown Beaches. We met in London in 1991 and Lorraines campaigns against cruelty to animals and helps to re-home as many as possible to good homes.
